The Tierpark Suhl Support Association (Förderverein Tierpark Suhl e.V.)

Founded on January 19, 1994, the "Tierpark Association" is committed to preserving the Tierpark Suhl, which has been home to around 100 animal species since 1969. The association’s goal is to make the zoo even more attractive for the city of Suhl and its visitors, and to share valuable knowledge about the animals and their ways of life.

Since its founding, the association has worked to share responsibility for the continued success of this beloved Suhl institution, to develop new sources of funding, and to gain new partners for achieving its goals.

Over the past five years, the association has supported many projects in the zoo that would not have been possible without its help:

About the Tierpark Suhl

The Suhl Zoo welcomes you 365 days a year. Nestled in the natural setting of the Suhler Schweiz valley, just a 5-minute drive from the Ringberg Hotel, the zoo is home to many native domestic and wild animals as well as a selection of exotic species. You can even get up close with the colorful lorikeets, mini pigs, dwarf goats, and Ouessant sheep in their enclosures. For the lorikeets and some wild animals, feeding is allowed with hay pellets available at the entrance.

Traditional events include the Giant Easter Nest, evening tours with a campfire, Zoo Day, the Zoo Festival, and the Market in the Barn.

How Can You Help?

Sponsoring an animal is a wonderful way to support the zoo in a very personal manner. From tiny guinea pigs to impressive moose, all the animals are happy to have a sponsor.
